Software grant awarded to Excelsior Youth Center
Excelsior Youth Center has received an $8,235 donation of software from Novell Inc.
The gift will be used for upgrades and to help improve the center’s technology resources, said Michelle Ovens, technology coordinator for the center. “As a result, we can purchase other items that will boost our effectiveness in services and education to needy children.”
Novell’s software donations are part of its Community Relations program. Novell’s corporate giving program focuses on education, community needs and cultural development.
Excelsior Youth Center is a private, nonprofit agency in a residential neighborhood on the North Side.
The center accepts adolescents with a broad range of behavior problems, including chronic running away, substance abuse, delinquency and pre-delinquency, inability to function within the family setting and inability to function in the public school system.
