Conservatives deserving

The Spokesman-Review

Outdoor columnist Rich Landers takes a beating in the letters section whenever he criticizes “conservatives.” Maybe they deserve it.

Maybe Rich Landers is hostile toward neoconservatives and the Bush administration because they want to sell public land, or charge citizens a fee to use their own public resources. Maybe it is because one of the first acts of the Bush administration was to divert water from the Klamath River to farmers and deliberately kill more than 30,000 salmon.

Maybe he dislikes the Bush administration because Montana home boy Landers is aware of the massive habitat degradation occurring along the Rocky Mountain front in the administration’s never-ending quest to transfer national wealth to the already wealthy.

Maybe.
