Cable work closes downtown lanes
Lanes on Sprague, Browne, Riverside and Division are being restricted for several days downtown as crews install fiber-optic cables.
The south lane of Sprague will be closed from the Intermodal Center to Browne Street.
The west lane of Browne will be closed from Sprague to Riverside.
Riverside’s north lane will be closed from Browne to Division.
Division’s west lane will be closed from Riverside to Third.
The closures began earlier this week and will run from 7 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. through Friday.
The cable will be used to monitor traffic conditions.
Post Falls Goodwill to offer training
A new Goodwill Industries store planned for Post Falls will offer not only retail goods but also job training for local people with disabilities.
The thrift store will be the 13th agency site in the Inland Northwest, said Diane Galloway, public information manager.
“We think it is a very big deal,” she said. “We’ve wanted to be in Post Falls for a while.”
Set to open April 12 at 317 Seltice Way, the 7,200-square-foot store will employ 10 people.
It’s not yet clear how many disabled people will be able to find training and employment assistance, Galloway said.
