Post Falls offering free trees
Post Falls is giving away 3,000 trees as part of its third annual Plant-A-Tree Day.
The shade and flowering trees are bare-root and landscape size.
The trees will be given away at 9 a.m. April 1 in Q’emiln Park. People who attend a free planting workshop beforehand can avoid lines by getting a voucher that can be redeemed at the giveaway.
The first two Community Canopy workshops are at 12:10 p.m. Thursday and Friday at the Coeur d’Alene City Hall, 710 E. Mullan Avenue. For more information, call Karen at 769-2266.
In Post Falls, there are three workshops at the Post Falls Library: March 18 at 9:30 a.m.; March 23 at 6 p.m.; March 24 at 12:10 p.m. For more information, call Linden at 773-8147.
The Hayden workshop is at City Hall on March 25 at 10 a.m. For more information, call Angel at 772-4411.
Trees may be reserved for homeowners associations and businesses if they will be planted in common areas.
Although the trees are free, donations to the Post Falls Tree Trust Fund are accepted.
