Spokane County Substance Abuse Advisory Board – needs volunteers to serve on the board to help county staff and the Board of County Commissioners plan substance abuse prevention and treatment programs for Spokane County. Washington Reading Corps – is looking for volunteers to assist students in grades K-6 to meet state academic standards in reading by providing one-on-one tutoring. Contact Mandy Edwards at 789-3592, or Angela Liedkie at 789-3611, for more information.

The Wishing Star Foundation – needs a volunteer to assist the development coordinator five to 10 hours per week. Experience in data entry, clerical, filing, and telephone work is required. For more information, contact Holly or Jodi at 744-3411.

Women and Children’s Free Restaurant – volunteers are needed for store room organizer, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays for two hours a day, includes heavy lifting; prep cook, Friday mornings for meal preparation, kitchen experience is helpful, must pass background check; dishwasher Tuesdays from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m., must pass background check.
