Spokane County man missing
A Spokane man with dementia is missing for the second time in weeks after walking away from his north Spokane County home Saturday, Spokane County sheriff’s deputies said.
Gary L. Bates, 64, left his residence at 7100 E. Big Meadows Road between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. It’s unknown which direction he went.
Bates is wearing on his wrist a CareTrack bracelet, which emits a radio signal that the Sheriff’s Department can pick up with a receiver. Deputies used two receivers Saturday night in an attempt to locate Bates.
Bates is described as white, 5 feet 9 inches, 120 pounds with a scraggly gray beard. He is believed to be wearing a red and tan stocking cap, gray sweat pants and possibly a black fleece jacket.
Bates also walked away from his home March 2 but was later found, deputies said. Anyone who sees Bates should call 911 or (509) 532-9266.
