Mohammed propels Spurs past Suns

Nazr Mohammed matched a career high with 30 points and had 16 rebounds to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 108-102 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Friday night in San Antonio.

San Antonio has won three straight and remained a half game behind Dallas in the chase for the top record in the Southwest Division and the Western Conference.

Steve Nash scored 30 points to lead Phoenix, which had a two-game winning streak stopped. Shawn Marion had 22 points and 12 rebounds.

It’s the first time the Suns, the highest-scoring team in the league, have surpassed 100 points against the Spurs this season. Their high against San Antonio in three previous games was 93.

Pacers 98, Kings 93: Ron Artest was booed loudly and shot poorly in his return to Indiana as the Pacers beat Sacramento.

Artest was playing in Indianapolis for the first time since his trade request was granted and he was sent to the Kings for Peja Stojakovic seven weeks ago. Artest scored 18 points, but shot 6 for 22 from the field, including 2 for 14 in the second half.

Knicks 105, Pistons 103: Jamal Crawford scored 15 of his 18 points in the fourth quarter, including the tiebreaking jumper with 2.2 seconds left, and New York rallied to beat visiting Detroit.

Eddy Curry added 16 points and 11 rebounds and Steve Francis scored 15 points for the Knicks, who were decked out in green for the first time to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.

Mavericks 104, Wizards 94: Jason Terry and Dirk Nowitzki scored 25 points apiece, and Dallas pulled away in the second half for a win in Washington.

Jazz 111, Hawks 101: Deron Williams tossed in 28 points, Mehmet Okur added 24 points and Carlos Boozer scored 21 to lead Utah to a win in Atlanta.

Nets 92, Lakers 89: Nenad Krstic scored 26 points and tapped in a missed shot by Vince Carter with 13 seconds left to lift New Jersey over Los Angeles in East Rutherford, N.J.

Raptors 97, Bucks 96: Chris Bosh had 27 points and 10 rebounds, and the Raptors rallied from a 16-point deficit in the final 6 minutes to beat Milwaukee in Toronto.

Cavaliers 99, Trail Blazers 84: LeBron James tallied 27 points and Drew Gooden added a season-high 23 points and 14 rebounds to lead the Cavaliers past Portland in Cleveland.

Magic 84, Celtics 77: Dwight Howard had 18 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots to lead Orlando past visiting Boston.

Grizzlies 116, Nuggets 102: Mike Miller scored a franchise-record 41 points to lead the Grizzlies over Denver in Memphis, Tenn.

Clippers 99, 76ers 89: Elton Brand had 24 points and 10 rebounds, Cuttino Mobley had 20 points against his hometown team, and Los Angeles beat visiting Philadelphia.
