Woman pleads guilty to 21 felony charges

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

Cybil Imholt pleaded guilty Friday to 21 felony charges, the day after she pleaded guilty to a single count of leading organized crime.

Superior Court Judge Tari Eitzen sentenced Imholt to serve 51 months in prison, but it will run concurrently with the 51-month sentence Imholt received Thursday.

Several people testified at the sentencing, including Deanna Brady, the wife of Spokane County Jail Commander Jerry Brady. Deanna Brady had several checks stolen that Imholt then forged and passed to various stores.

“We should not be plea bargaining these charges away,” Brady said. “We should be sending a message.”

On Thursday, Deputy Prosecutor Bob Sargent dismissed 43 forgery charges in exchange for the single count of leading organized crime. But that deal more than doubled Imholt’s time in jail.

Gerri Bowman also testified Friday. Imholt pleaded guilty to burglarizing Bowman’s home.

“I have a 10-year-old who constantly checks the locks,” Bowman said as she cried.

She also said her husband’s job is in jeopardy because he keeps getting calls from collection agencies at work. “You have messed up people’s lives that you don’t even know,” Bowman said.

Imholt replied: “I’m sorry to all of you guys. I’ll care for the rest of my life. And I’m truly sorry from my heart,” as she cried, too.
