Burgers anyone?

Joanna M. Lund King Features Syndicate

Take ordinary burgers into the realm of extraordinary.

Onion and Mushroom Burgers

16 ounces extra-lean ground sirloin beef or turkey breast

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

1 cup finely chopped fresh mushrooms

6 tablespoons dried fine breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

2 tablespoons water

Plug in and spray both sides of a double-sided grill with butter-flavored cooking spray. In a large bowl, combine meat, onion, mushrooms, breadcrumbs, parsley flakes, Worcestershire sauce and water. Mix well to combine.

Using a 1/2 cup measuring cup as a guide, form into 6 patties. Evenly arrange patties on prepared grill. Close lid and grill for 5 to 6 minutes or until burgers are cooked to desired doneness. Serve hot as is, or place on hamburger bun with lettuce and tomato slice. Makes 6 servings.
