Girl Scout organization introduces new cookie

Deciding which Girl Scout cookies to buy just got more difficult.

This year, a new Café Cookie joins the other eight cookies in the line-up.

Girl Scouts from Troops 474 and 446 will offer free samples of the new cookie from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday next to the Nordstrom Coffee Bar in River Park Square.

The launch of the new cookie is part of the annual cookie sale that runs Friday through April 16.

The Café Cookie, Thin Mints, Samoas and all the other cookies will also be on sale for $4 a box.

Proceeds from the cookie sale program stay in Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

For the second year, Operation: Troop to Troop is asking customers to buy additional boxes of cookies to donate to members of the U.S. armed forces..

Girl Scouts Inland Empire Council will partner with Fairchild Air Force Base to ship the cookies to military personnel in all branches of the service.

Last year, 80 cases of cookies were donated and transported to troops by Fairchild Air Force Base.

To make a donation of Girl Scout cookies through Operation: Troop to Troop, look for Girl Scouts in your neighborhood or at your grocery store, or visit www.gsiec.org to find the cookie sale location nearest you.
