•Greater Spokane League: In a battle of two teams at the top of the standings, Central Valley (3-0) pulled out a 3-2 shootout win over visiting Cheney (2-1). The Bears’ Matt Bunch tied the game late in regulation and then scored in the shootout. … Cole Abramson scored two goals and added an assist to lead East Valley past visiting Shadle Park (1-2) 4-0. The Knights (3-0) remain on top of the standings with nine points. … Forrest Gilles scored a pair of goals to lead Lewis and Clark (2-1) past visiting North Central 2-1 at Hart Field. After Gilles opened the scoring, Ryan Matern tied the game for the Indians (1-1) in the 32nd minute. Gilles scored the winner in the 70th minute on his fifth goal of the season. … Mead remained one point out of first after a 3-1 win over visiting Gonzaga Prep (0-3). Greater Northern League: Three different players scored for Lakeside and the Eagles picked up a 3-1 over visiting Medical Lake at Nine Mile Falls. Jason Reeder, Eric Alexander, and Jeremy Tate each scored for the Eagles (1-0), who picked up their first win over the Cardinals (0-1) in four years.

Softball

Greater Spokane League: Katie Antich hit a two-run double in the second and scored three runs, as host Gonzaga Prep cruised past Lewis and Clark (0-3) 9-2. Freshman Hailee Duncan gave up three hits in picking up the win for the Bullpups (1-1).
