Rockford City Council – Council members voted to increase water hookup fees from $500 to $1,500 and sewer hookup fees from $3,950 to $5,100. The Rockford Fire Department plans to place a levy on the April ballot. (Source: Town clerk)

Fire District 8 – Commissioners discussed contract negotiations with Local 3711. They also debated whether to purchase some surplus Chevy vans from the Spokane Valley Fire Department or to purchase new vans. No decision was made. (Source: Deputy Chief Dan Blystone)

Week of March 20

Spokane Valley Fire – Several ongoing discussions were tabled due to the absence of the fire chief. Commissioners established a public information officer/public education officer position that will be filled by Bill Clifford, the former Millwood Fire Department chief. Fairfield City Council – The town has received a $16,617 grant from the Department of Transportation for the design phase of a project to replace two pedestrian bridges.
