Lessons from Darwin will be topic at GU
Gonzaga University is presenting the lecture, “What Can We Learn from Darwin?,” today from 7 to 9 p.m. in the Gonzaga University Administration Building, 502 E. Boone Ave.
Wayne Pomerleau, a professor of philosophy; Robert and Ann Powers, professors of the humanities; and Robert Prusch, a biology professor, will speak on the topic in the fourth in a series of presentations dealing with the great thinkers of history.

Handbell concert
Central Lutheran Church, 512 S. Bernard St., is presenting the De Colores Handbell Choir Sunday at 4 p.m.

‘De-Centralized Catholicism’
Rosemary Haughton will speak at 8 p.m. today in the Cataldo Hall Globe room on the Gonzaga University campus, 502 E. Boone Ave.
Haughton, an author and lecturer, will speak on “A De-Centralized Catholicism.”
She is also a member of the Wellspring House in Massachusetts. Her community helps shelter homeless families and is developing projects for low-income housing and education.

Reception for retiring pastor
Don Gilmore, pastor of Plymouth Congregational Church, is retiring after 37 years at the church.
The congregation will host a reception and potluck for Gilmore and his wife, Natalie, Sunday after the 10 a.m. worship service at the church, 1502 E. Eighth Ave.
His last service will be on Easter Sunday.

Salem Lutheran Church, 1415 W. Broadway Ave., is hosting Grace Lutheran, St. Paul Lutheran and Emmanuel Lutheran churches next Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. for a soup supper and worship.

The Unity Center, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, is presenting a sneak preview of “The Celestine Prophesy,” the movie based on the book by James Redfield.
