A specialty bakery featuring desserts and with an emphasis on wedding cakes will open at

2702 W. Northwest Blvd. on Saturday.

Stefanie Mehaffey is the owner and baker at Stefanie’s - Isn’t It Sweet!

“If it’s dessert, we’ll have it,” she said.

Mehaffey, a Spokane native, most recently worked as lead cake decorator for the Rosauers in-store bakery at Five Mile.

She lives in the Audubon Park neighborhood just three blocks from the bakery.

“I’ll love being able to walk to work,” she said.

In addition to the variety of desserts, the bakery also will feature chai teas, cocoas and chocolates, Mehaffey said.

The bakery’s hours will be 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Thursday, Friday; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
