The work will cost of $977,000, but the project is eligible for a $371,000 subsidy from the city’s voter-approved 2004 street improvement bond issue.

The second project calls for improvements to Sixth Avenue from G to F streets at a cost of $166,000 with a $455,000 subsidy from the 2004 street bond.

In related business, the city has received several new neighborhood development proposals, including one from its chief financial officer, Gavin Cooley.

Cooley is seeking a six-lot short plat and planned unit development for property near his home. The address is listed as 1809 W. Cannon Place Lane. Elsewhere, Glen Cloninger is seeking a comprehensive land-use plan amendment to allow office uses for property at the northwest corner of 29th Avenue and Lee Street.

The East Central Community Organization is holding a community meeting on Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the East Central Community Center on a proposal to build a 25-unit senior housing project at 2201 E. Fifth Ave.

Also, Sherri Charneski is seeking a preliminary plat for three single-family lots on 16 acres of land southeast of Thorpe and Trainer roads.
