Some churches changing service schedules

Sunday is the day of shifting schedules, with some churches using the holiday weekend to shift to their summer worship schedules and others to combine services for the weekend.

• Veradale United Church of Christ, 611 N. Progress Road, will switch to its summer worship schedule on Sunday. The weekly service will now begin at 10 a.m. each Sunday.

• Zion Lutheran Church will combine its traditional and contemporary services into one service this week at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday. The church is at 8304 E. Buckeye Ave.

• Christ Lutheran Church, 13009 E. Broadway Ave., will host a special combined worship service at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

School auction

Valley Christian School will host its 11th annual auction beginning at 6 p.m. Friday at CenterPlace, 2426 N. Discovery Place. The evening will include a dinner, silent auction and live bidding. Tickets are $35 each. Call 893-4147 to purchase tickets in advance.
