Flower pics a stumper

The Spokesman-Review

That was a hard one.…

We almost feel a need to apologize, but then again what fun is it if you don’t get a challenge once in a while?

In Home on May 16, we ran six super up-close photos of relatively common flowers, and we asked you to name all six.

Dear readers, of the 15 entries we got, nobody had all six correct.

The correct answers are:

1. Begonia

2. Calla lily

3. Rose

4. Daffodil

5. Gerbera daisy

6. Pansy

Evelyn Fiske of Spokane had five correct answers – she was the only one – missing just the begonia, so she’s our first-place winner.

Among six readers with three correct answers (there was no one with four) we randomly picked Merry Ruth Dingman of Coeur d’Alene and Lola Hoffman of Kettle Falls, Wash., as second and third.

Congratulations to all of you. Gardening books are on the way in the mail.
