‘Mame’ benefit for Lions Wednesday

The Spokesman-Review

The story of a free-wheeling socialite who saw her world through a unique lens will hopefully benefit the vision – as well as hearing and medical needs – of the Spokane area.

“Mame” is playing at the Spokane Civic Theater on Wednesday and two Lions Clubs stand to benefit.

All of the $29 admission will go toward community needs for vision, hearing other medical concerns.

The 1966 Broadway musical centers on the eccentric Mame Dennis, her relationship with her son and her travels around the world.

The Sunrise East and Valley Lions Clubs are holding the benefit, which will take place with refreshments at 7 p.m. and the show at 7:30 p.m. The Spokane Civic Theater is at 1020 N. Howard St.
