Age: 46

Hometown: Edmond, Okla. We moved here in 1990.

Occupation: I’m a veterinarian, the owner/operator of the Hayden Pet Medical Center.

Family: My wife, Donna, a recently retired speech language pathologist, and two children. Brady is 21 and a student at North Idaho College, and Justin, who’s 18, is at Lakeland High School.

Hobbies: I’m an avid private pilot and am just about finished building an airplane. I also ride a Yamaha road bike and two Yamaha dirt bikes.

What do you like about North Idaho? Everything. I love the people, the environment, the seasons, the weather and the trees.

What do you like or dislike about the current season? I really enjoy this time of year. It’s cool, and I can ride my bikes without getting all hot and bothered.

Favorite music: Everything from pop to blues.

Favorite book: “Animals in Translation” by Temple Grandin, a Ph.D. in animal science. She’s autistic, and uses autism to describe animal behavior.

Favorite movie: Anything with action. I like “shoot-‘em-ups.”

Favorite spot in North Idaho? Why? Lake Pend Oreille is the most beautiful lake in the U.S. I love flying over it.
