James Jones shot 11 of 17 from the field, including 7 of 9 from long range, and scored 27 points to lead Whitworth to a 95-67 non-conference men’s basketball win over Eastern University (0-1) at the Lee Pfund Classic in Wheaton, Ill.

Morris Anderson added 14 points for the Thunderbirds, who shot 50 percent overall.

Nick Livi led the Cardinals (3-1) with 22 points and Brian Morris added 16 points and seven rebounds.

Shawn Henderson also contributed for North Idaho, scoring eight points and grabbing six rebounds.
