Witchy women

» Visit Salem, Mass., in 1692 through performances of the East Valley High School production of "The Crucible." The Arthur Miller play focuses on the witch trials, so it's not recommended for children younger than 12. Opening night is Thursday at 7 p.m. at the theater, 15711 E. Wellesley.

» The performance will be repeated at 7 p.m. Friday, next Saturday and Dec. 6 and 7. The final performance on Dec. 9 will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for senior citizens or students without an ASB card. Students with an ASB card get in free. » Rummage around in your closet for your sequined gown. It's time to party. Spokane Valley Meals on Wheels will host a holiday ball and gift auction Friday. The evening will begin with a silent auction and social hour at 6 p.m. followed by a catered dinner at 7. A Christmas tree auction will begin at 8 and dancing to music by Men in the Making will be from 9 to 11.

» The event will be at CenterPlace, 2426 N. Discovery Place. Tickets are $75 and reservations are requested by Monday.
