How do I … Elminate signal interference?

The Spokesman-Review

It happens sometimes that your router and your wireless phone will both be transmitting within the 5.8Ghz range. In that case, you’ll hear scratchy phone calls or, more likely, your Internet connections will suffer sporadic bouts of inactivity.

The solution: Find out if your router uses 802.11a or 802.11g. If the latter is the case, you’ll have an easy fix. That kind of device has eight nonoverlapping channels that let you move your signal from one with interference to one without.

Check the manual that came with the router and learn how to switch your signal from the current channel to one of the other channels.

If the interference is coming from the wireless phone — though it might be something else — this should solve the problem.
