Tris Kline and Eden Lake took second and third place, respectively, to help Central Valley’s girls to a first-place finish Wednesday, including a 25-31 win over host Mead in Greater Spokane League action.

Mead’s Nikki Codd placed first overall with a time of 19 minutes, 43 seconds for 3 miles.

Mead’s boys swept the top three spots in wins over Lewis and Clark and Central Valley. Dylan Hatcher earned first place in 15:57.

Elsewhere in the GSL, Andrew Kimpel ran a first-place time of 16:22 as North Central’s boys pulled out wins over University and Gonzaga Prep at Liberty Lake. NC’s Mary Graesser took the top spot for the girls, but U-Hi took first place as a team. Stevei Gildehaus (19:51) was the top Titans runner, in third. … Ferris’ Jeff Devlin (16:01) placed first as the Saxons boys had wins over East Valley and Mt. Spokane at Comstock Park. Courtney Zalud (19:19) claimed the top spot as Mt. Spokane’s girls earned wins over Ferris and EV. … Peter Miler (15:36) claimed first as Shadle Park’s boys ran past visiting Rogers. Andrea Nelson ran 18:01 to lead Shadle’s girls past Rogers 18-40.

“Cheney’s boys and girls earned team and individual wins over Pullman in Greater Northern League play. Harlan Gough (17:30) placed first for the boys, while Hayley Seipp (20:25) was tops for the girls.
