EWU fraternity bringing up Baby
One fraternity in Cheney is starting to live up to the Animal House moniker.
Members of Eastern Washington University’s Phi Delta Theta adopted Baby, the young dog that had been abused earlier this summer by a man who claimed he kicked her and hit her, said Patricia Simonet of SCRAPS. The dog is finding a home among the Eastern Washington University men, who have renamed her Athena.
The dog took a trip to Cheney to participate with SCRAPS in Cheneyfest, a community celebration. Members of the fraternity found the dog and adopted her, Simonet said.
The fraternity was founded on principles of friendship, sound learning and a high standard of morality, which should provide Athena a good home, Simonet said.
“I think the adoption of Baby to the Phi Delta Theta fraternity is a good match,” Simonet said. “Baby needed a stimulating environment, and I think she will get that with these young men.”
