HollisterStier Laboratories has hired Karen Arnold as a lead scientist in analytical quality control. She previously worked at Invitrogen-Molecular Probes in Eugene, Ore., and holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Oregon State University.

Marcello Conigliaro has been hired at the Coeur d’Alene office of Century 21 Beutler & Associates as a real estate agent. He previously worked at Coldwell Banker in Coeur d’Alene and is a graduate of Ithaca College in Ithaca, N.Y.

Miller.Whiterunkle has hired David Schlegel as an application developer in the interactive department. He previously worked at Eastern Washington University and holds a degree in computer information systems.

Michelle Galey has been hired as director of communications at the Washington State University Intercollegiate College of Nursing. She previously worked as assistant director of university relations at Eastern Washington University and holds a master’s degree in communications from EWU.

ALSC Architects has hired Darrin Griechen. He holds a master’s degree in architecture from the University of Idaho and previously worked as an urban designer for the City of Spokane.

Levi Liljenquist has been hired as an associate in the Spokane office of Paine, Hamblen, Coffin, Brooke & Miller. He specializes in taxation matters, estate planning, wills and probate, and closely held and professional business representation.

Global Credit Union has hired Teresa Berglin as a loan officer in the Coeur d’Alene Idaho real estate loan office. She previously worked as a mortgage loan originator at First Bank and holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Alaska.

Kyle Hendricks has been hired as vice president and bank manager in the Coeur d’Alene branch of Idaho Independent Bank. He has 18 years of banking experience and is a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.

The Spokane Regional Convention & Visitors Bureau has hired Chad Pederson as a convention sales manager. He previously worked as a commercial lender at F&M Bank.

Darren Stuck has been hired as general manager of Berg Integrated Systems. He previously worked as operations manager for Eastern Washington at Wilcox Farms.

Rockey Hill & Knowlton has hired Christiaan Brown as vice president and director of the technology practice. He has eight years of experience in developing product and corporate communications programs.

Rayann Arp has been hired as a project manager at Telect. She has experience working in customer service and program management.

Telect has hired Mark Hawley as its FTTx solutions manager. He has over 25 years of experience in the telecommunications industry.

Michael Kistler has been hired as a staff physical therapist at Whitworth Physical Therapy. He holds a master’s degree in physical therapy from Des Moines University’s Osteopathic Medical Center and serves as a volunteer physical therapist for the athletic teams of Lewis & Clark High School, North Central High School, Mead High School and Mt. Spokane High School.

Whitworth Physical Therapy has hired Matthew Fain, a specialist in manual and orthopedic physical therapy. He previously worked as a physical therapist at Healthpoint at the University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. He holds a master’s degree in physical therapy from Texas Tech University.

PROMOTED

AmericanWest Bank has promoted Rick Cornelius to commercial loan officer. He has been at the bank since 2005 and previously specialized in residential mortgage and construction lending.

Robert Smith has been promoted to vice president and chief operating officer at Centennial Properties. He previously worked as general manager of River Park Square. Centennial Properties and River Park Square are owned by Cowles Company, which also owns The Spokesman-Review.

Aaron Larsen has been promoted to assistant vice president of Sterling Savings Bank. He is the bank’s network engineering manager and has been with Sterling since it merged with Klamath First in 2004.

Randal Hardy has been promoted to president of HuntMountain Resources. He previously worked as vice president and chief financial officer and holds a degree in finance from Boise State University.

Steven Storey has been promoted to Wells Fargo’s private client services regional manager for Eastern Washington and North Idaho. He has almost 20 years of financial services experience and has been at Wells Fargo since 2001.

KUDOS

Leonard Green has received the Meritorious Award from Network Services Company. Green is the president of Service Paper Co. in Renton, Wash.

Jason Harless has earned the Washington Association of Landscape Professionals Certified Landscape Technician-Exterior designation. Harless works at Land Expressions.

Jerry and Regina Lillie have received the Supercuts ‘Over 10 Stores’ Franchisee of the Year Award for 2006 by Regis Corp. The Lillies have Supercuts stores in Eastern and Central Washington and North Idaho.

ELECTED

Peter Morrill has been elected to a three-year term on the national board of directors of the Public Broadcasting Service. Morrill is the general manager of Idaho Public Television.

The North Idaho College Foundation Board of Directors has elected new members for its 2006-2007 school year. They are: Michelle Schini Mitchell of Magnuson, McHugh and Company; Mark Fisher of Advanced Benefits Management; Claudia Miewald of North Idaho Behavioral Health; James Eisses, retired; Parker Woodall, retired; Rick Maxey of Magnuson, McHugh and Co.; Ben Rolphe of HomeSeekers Publications; Dr. Bill Tarnasky; and Idaho State Senator John Goedde.

GIFTS

The Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery received $78,633 during the “I Give for Kids Phonathon.” Almost 300 volunteers gathered at Advantage IQ and called thousands of people in the area to raise the funds.
