Woman arrested after failed robbery

From Staff Reports The Spokesman-Review

A woman who allegedly put a stick in her glove and pretended to have a gun was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery after a Spokane convenience store owner chased her off with a stick of his own.

Police said in court documents that Lisa M. Moore, 24, went to Broadway Foods, 2229 W. Broadway Ave., Tuesday afternoon and declared, “I’m robbing the place.”

When store owner Kumar Vinay refused to hand over $40, Moore allegedly pounded her fist on the counter and pointed her stick-in-the-glove “gun” at him. Vinay thought it was a real gun, but he nevertheless chased Moore off with a stick while calling police, according to court documents.

Police arrested Moore about five minutes later at the nearby intersection of Nettleton Street and Mallon Avenue.
