Chorale presents concert at First Presbyterian
“Joyful Voices Raised” is the theme of the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale’s fall concert, Bach to Contemporary Praise, 7 p.m. next Saturday and 2 p.m. Nov. 5 at First Presbyterian Church, 521 E. Lakeside Ave., Coeur d’Alene.
The chorale will perform two advent cantatas, with a chamber orchestra and soloists joining to perform Bach’s Cantata No. 36, and The Winter Rose, by Joseph Martin. The program also highlights First Presbyterian’s newly installed Rogers hybrid pipe organ.
Founded in 2001, the Northwest Sacred Music Chorale is dedicated to preserving the tradition of Western sacred choral music. The 50-voice choir is directed by John Lemke, former conductor of the North Idaho College Jazz Ensemble, and assistant conductor and mezzo soprano, Gaynell Coppess.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for senior citizens/students, available at First Presbyterian Church, Great Harvest Bread Co., Northwest Academy of Music, and in Spokane at Hoffman’s Music on Monroe Street. For more information, call Coppess at (208) 772-3491.
