Grading the cougars: A-

The Spokesman-Review

Quarterback

A-

Were it not for a pair of interceptions, this would have been Brink’s best game.

Running backs

B+

Big plus for WSU to see Woolridge run well; Tardy, Hutsona injuries are concerning

Wide receivers

A

With Hill and the tight ends playing a big game the UCLA defense was helpless

Offensive line

B

Three early sacks weren’t pretty, but the improved run game late was impressive

Defensive line

A-

Short-handed, and still effective; this was an inspired effort up and down the line

Linebackers

A-

Once again the linchpin of the WSU defense, especially in the 3-4

Defensive backs

A

Frustrated Cowan, picked off a pair of his passes and broke up five more

Special teams

B-

Most of the credit goes to Bumpus and Abdollmo- hammadi for stepping in

Coaching

A

Good game plan and once again the Cougars are believing in themselves
