Medical specialists under one roof

For insomniacs with broken bones needing physical therapy, there’s a perfect place in Spokane Valley.
A new building on Sinto Avenue is home to three different medical specialists, and each provides a unique service.
STAR Sports Therapy and Rehabilitation features two full-time physical therapists and a certified athletic trainer in a fresh, expansive office space, said general manager Steve Schaefer.
The new facility serves people with all types of injuries and features new exercise and aerobics equipment. Windows that stretch to the top of tall ceilings provide views of Mount Spokane, and there is plenty of room to move, Schaefer said.
The company soon may have a 45-foot-long mobile physical therapy trailer that can be taken to different large sports events, Schaefer said.
Downstairs, next to well-designed garden, Aspen Sleep Centers treats sleep disorders with its all-new facility.
The office features four well-appointed bedrooms in which doctors can monitor sleep disorders and make recommendations seven days a week, said employee Kris Frandsen.
Aspen opened the Valley location because the area did not have its own sleep center, he said.
Just above Aspen, Northwest Orthopedic Specialists houses state-of-the-art equipment and a little more room to grow, said Leanne Mason with NWOS.
The business moved out of a tiny space near Valley Hospital and Medical Center last spring and since has been very busy, Mason said.
The facility includes a digital X-ray device that allows doctors to see immediate pictures of bones, rather than having to wait for film to develop.
Several other offices remain vacant in the new building, but Kris Frandsen said the owner of the building is close to getting a few more tenants soon.
