Ryan, Hobson spark Chiefs
KENNEWICK – Derek Ryan and Adam Hobson each scored two goals and the Spokane Chiefs held on for a 6-5 exhibition hockey victory over Tri-City on Saturday night.
Levko Koper and Chris Langkow also scored for Spokane (4-1). Thomas Stehr and Kevin Armstrong combined for 23 saves. Stehr stopped 8 of 9 shots, Armstrong 15 of 19.
Hobson’s goals came 7 seconds apart midway through the third period after Tri-City pulled into a 4-4 tie. The Americans scored on a power play with 5 seconds to play.
The teams close out exhibition play with a home-and-home series next weekend, playing in Spokane Friday.
