Match of the day: Darren Clarke and Lee Westwood beat Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk 3 and 2 in morning better ball. Clarke punctuated the win by chipping in on the 16th hole to close out the match and send Woods and Furyk to their second defeat in two days.

Shot of the day: Paul Casey hit a 4-iron 213 yards on the 14th hole for an ace that was the fifth in Ryder Cup history and clinched the alternate shot match for the Europeans against Stewart Cink and Zach Johnson.

Player of the day: Spain’s Sergio Garcia, the only player to win two points. Garcia is 4-0 and the leading point winner of the tournament.
