Dodgers 19, Rockies 11: At Denver, rookie James Loney hit two homers, including a grand slam and had a total of nine RBIs, to lead Los Angeles past Colorado in a slugfest at Coors Field.

Reds 5, Marlins 1: At Miami, Kyle Lohse doubled in two runs and gave up just three hits to help Cincinnati keep its slim playoff hopes alive with the victory over Florida.

Mets 7, Braves 4: At Atlanta, Orlando Hernandez matched his season high with nine strikeouts in the victory over the Braves, which stopped New York’s four-game losing streak.

Astros 3, Pirates 0: At Pittsburgh, Roy Oswalt had seven shutout innings and Houston pulled within a half-game of St. Louis.

Brewers 9, Cardinals 4: At St. Louis, Jason Marquis got just six outs and the Cardinals fell behind by eight runs in the third inning, losing to Milwaukee. St. Louis has lost eight of its last nine games.

Padres 12, Diamondbacks 4: At Phoenix, Brian Giles had a home run and a double, and Russell Branyan and Rob Bowen also hit home runs for San Diego in the win over Arizona.
