Collecting: Value of inherited soup ladle depends

Larry Cox King Features Syndicate

Q: I inherited a soup ladle made by William A. Rogers. How much is it worth? — Carl, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada

A: The value of your ladle depends on several things. Is it sterling or plate? Is it a desirable pattern? What is the condition? Without this information, my estimate would be an uneducated guess. I did find five ladles on eBay, all plate and most selling in the $30 to $60 range.
