Pregnant woman’s condition improving after three-car crash
A 32-year-old pregnant woman’s condition was improving Tuesday after a three-car collision sent her and two others to the hospital Monday evening.
The crash caused Sullivan Avenue to be closed near Valleyway for several hours Monday night as crews pried apart the vehicles to reach the injured. Spokane Valley police said a Ford Explorer was driving south on Sullivan and hit two cars – including the vehicle carrying the pregnant woman – in the northbound lane.
She was taken to the hospital with a broken pelvis, police said. Her baby also had a slowed heartbeat. The names and condition of the other two persons injured were unavailable, as was the name of the Explorer’s driver.
