NIC to debut teacher’s opus

The North Idaho College Wind Symphony presents “Stories Without Words” on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

The concert will be the premier of a new work titled “To Be or Not To Be” composed by NIC music theory teacher Gerard Mahtes.

Also on the program will be “Hoe down from Rodeo” by Aaron Copland, one of America’s greatest composers. In addition several other works will be performed including Dragons Fly on the Wings of Time, Goddess of Fire, The Kings March, Lux Aurumque, Fantasy on a Japanese Folk Song, and Carnival from La Fiesta Mexicana.

The concert, under the baton of Terry Jones, will be in Boswell Hall, Schuler Performing Arts Center on the main North Idaho College campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
