Council approves street projects
The Spokane City Council finalized three neighborhood street-improvement projects Monday.
The paving projects are being financed through the city’s local improvement district program.
The approval finalizes the cost to property owners along the newly paved streets.
The projects are:
•Rebecca Street from 24th to 28th avenues. Owners of 85 parcels will split $162,698 for the project after about $149,000 was subtracted from the cost with money from federal grants and the street bond program approved by voters in 2004.
•Magnolia Street from Nebraska Avenue to Central Avenue. Owners of 35 parcels will split $110,247 after about $75,000 from grants and street bond money was subtracted from the cost.
•Garfield Street from 37th to 38th avenues. Owners of 22 parcels will split $37,036 for the project after about $67,000 from grants and street bond money was subtracted from the cost.
