Q: Five people at Manito Park (some with dogs, some without) were asked: What do you think can be done to get people to do a better job of cleaning up after their dogs on public property?

Kate Gardner: “It seems like you either want to or you don’t want to bother with it. We had to come back to the van for our bags. Maybe some signs?”

Linda Lea: “I think maybe they can ban dogs from public areas. Encourage people to take care of public areas.”

Carolyn Foster: “I live across the street from Friendship Park. They put up bags all over the park, so even if you forget your bag, you can clean up after your dogs.”

Bernard Jones: “If it’s law, then we need to enforce it. You’d have to give the Parks Department folks the authority to enforce it.”

Sheila Caddes: “It will have to be like it’s become in California. There will be no pets at all until they get it through their heads.”
