1937 Terraplane Super Touring Brougham

The Spokesman-Review

Name: Paul Johnson, 72, Rathdrum, Idaho.

Purchased: June 1998.

Why I love it: It reminds me so much of the cars we had as kids going through high school, the Model A, 1933 and ‘34 Fords, ‘36 and ‘37 Plymouths. The Terraplane (and Essex) was built by the Hudson Motor Car Company of Detroit. I never had a Hudson until 1995 and have four now, one in each decade, except the teens. It’s all original except the paint. Driving it puts me back 55 years; it’s one of the great cars of the ‘30s. I can’t help but feel that if people knew the history of the Hudson Motor Cars, we would see more Hudsons driving around.

My next truck will be: I would like to have a Hudson built in the teens but they are so rare it probably won’t happen.
