GU warns of male intruder
Gonzaga University has alerted its students about an intruder who entered a woman’s apartment this week and lay down in bed with her.
The man fled after the woman awoke, and she wasn’t injured or sexually assaulted. GU distributed fliers on campus this week about the incident, including a description of the suspect: black, 5-foot-8 to 5-foot-10 with a medium build, and wearing a white long-sleeve shirt and jeans.
GU spokesman Dale Goodwin said the man apparently entered the university-owned apartment through an unlocked sliding-glass door. The man entered at about 4 a.m. Wednesday, and when the woman woke up, he was already lying next to her. As he was fleeing, the man took a DVD player from the apartment, Goodwin said.
“The most important lesson here is, lock your doors, please,” Goodwin said. “All of us.”
