St. Mary’s Catholic School will host its 35th Annual Auction next Saturday at the Mirabeau Park Hotel.
The event will begin with a silent auction at 4:30 p.m., followed by dinner and a live auction. Cost is $35 per person. Tables of 10 can be reserved.
Following the auction and dinner there will be dancing to the music of “The Rhythm Method.”
Returning this year is the Cut the Deck raffle, with the winner selecting one of the live auction items, and the Tuition for a Year raffle.
“I am very excited about the creative theme and accompanying spirit of this year’s auction. We invite the general community to come be a part of this event,” said parent and school volunteer Jane Diehl.

Join ‘community conversations’
Central Valley School District wants ideas from the public about facility options as the district’s enrollment continues to increase.
“Community conversations” will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McDonald Elementary School, 1512 S. McDonald Road, and Thursday at Greenacres Middle School, 17409 E. Sprague Ave.
A similar session was held Wednesday at Bowdish Middle School.
Led by an independent facilitator, conversations will be held in small groups and options such as portable classrooms, multitrack year-round school and double shifting to expand the capacity of school facilities are likely to be discussed.
Debra Long, school board president, said that at its current growth rate, the district is expected to be at capacity by fall 2008.
