My favorite truck: 1989 Chevy ½ -ton diesel pickup

Name: Glenn Maier, 78, Spokane.

Purchased: March 1990 used.

Why I love it: I drove this truck 297,000 miles before I sold it to a farmer near Colfax (who had run a wanted ad in The Spokesman-Review). When sold, it had the original water pump, alternator, and transmission (serviced regularly only). This truck just ran without any problems. It did quit once in Montana when the No. 2 diesel gelled at -24 degrees.

My next truck will be: What I drive now, a 2004 Chevrolet half-ton pickup.
