Kala Allred pitched her second perfect game of the week, as Timberlake (12-5, 8-0) swept host Kellogg (8-10, 5-5) in an Intermountain League doubleheader on Saturday. Allred pitched the perfect game as the Tigers won the opener 13-0 in five innings. Holly Edelblute went 3 for 4 with three RBIs for the Tigers.

In game two, Allred allowed three hits while striking out 10 in the complete game as Timberlake won 9-0. Athon Allred knocked in two runs to lead the Tigers.

Elsewhere in the IML, Sam Siron and Sarah Allen knocked in three runs apiece as St. Maries (7-7, 4-3) beat visiting Priest River 12-6 in the first game of a doubleheader. Kayla Stapleton (4-3) picked up the win for the Lumberjacks after allowing six hits in the complete game. In game two, the Spartans (4-13, 3-6) scored four runs in the final two innings and won 6-5. Michelle Guidry hit a two-run home run for St. Maries.

“Moscow (11-5, 8-3) swept host Lakeland (5-12, 1-9) in an Inland Empire League doubleheader. In the opener, Moscow scored six runs in the top of the sixth and went on to win 10-3. Lakeland committed eight errors. In game two, Brigitte Lowe hit a grand slam in the Bears’ eight-run fourth inning as Moscow won 17-3. Lowe finished with seven RBIs and also earned the win.

Track and field

Cody Helbling finished second in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, leading the Lake City boys to a second-place finish at the Lake City Invitational in Coeur d’Alene. Helbling ran the 1,600 in 4 minutes, 33.07 seconds, finishing second to Coeur d’Alene’s Mike Armon, who crossed in 4:30.79. The Vikings took sixth. Borah finished first.

On the girls side, Brenna Lawson won the pole vault (11-0), leading Lake City to a third-place finish. Centennial took first, followed by Borah. Anna Stone won the 1,600 (5:13.45) and 3,200 (11:15.68) for Coeur d’Alene, which took sixth.

Sabrina Ewing won the long jump (14-10) and the triple jump (31-2.75), leading the Coeur d’Alene Charter girls to a first-place finish at the Kootenai Invitational in Kootenai.

Priest River took second, followed by Kellogg.

For the boys, Ian Boyle won the 100 (11.54) and placed second in the 200 (23.82), leading St. Maries to a second-place finish.

Thompson Falls won the team title.

Baseball

Lewiston (16-2, 12-1) swept host Post Falls (6-12, 3-9) in an Inland Empire League doubleheader. Adam Carson went 3 for 4 with three RBIs as the Bengals won the opener 8-2. Matt Martin added three RBIs for Lewiston. In game two, the Bengals scored seven runs in the top of the fifth and went on to win 9-0. Brett Watson (3-0) earned the win for Lewiston after allowing four hits and striking out seven in the complete game.

Brian Nelson allowed three hits and struck out 14 as Priest River (8-6, 6-3) beat host St. Maries 7-2 in the first game of an Intermountain League doubleheader. Dan Lucas knocked in three runs to lead the Spartans. In game two, Logan Shelden went 5 for 5 with four RBIs as St. Maries (8-8, 6-2) won 14-6. The Lumberjacks scored seven runs in the third to take a 8-3 lead. …Also in the IML, Mitch Barnhouse pitched a complete-game two-hitter while striking out 11 as Timberlake (2-14, 2-7) blanked host Kellogg 8-0 in the first game of a doubleheader. In game two, Jeremiah Big Spring went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and four RBIs as Kellogg won 15-5. Kyle Kenser added two hits and four RBIs for the Wildcats (3-11, 2-8).

“West Valley (12-4, 8-2) swept host Medical Lake (4-9, 3-5) in a Great Northern League doubleheader. In the opener, Andy Vennum allowed five hits and struck out 10 in the complete game as the Eagles won 13-1. In game two, B.J. Palmer went 3 for 4 with three RBIs as West Valley won 11-8. Peterson added three hits and two RBIs for the Eagles. … Elsewhere in the GNL, Pullman (11-4, 8-2) swept host Deer Park (1-11, 0-9) in a doubleheader. Tyler Druffel hit a three-run homer in the first as the Greyhounds won the opener 10-0 in six innings. In the second game, Marty Guettinger allowed two hits as Pullman won 10-0 in five innings. Alec Scourey went 2 for 3 for the Greyhounds. … Clarkston (8-8, 7-3) swept host Riverside (3-12, 1-9) in a doubleheader. Cary Conklin hit a grand slam in the Bantams’ nine-run fourth as Clarkston won the opener 18-1. In game two, J.T. Rimmelspacher hit a walk-off RBI double in the seventh, giving the Bantams a 9-8 win.
