Feature creature: Sam

Kim Lytle Correspondent

This handsome boy is a little shy in the kennel, but once he has you alone, he becomes “Velcro dog.” Sam has been in the shelter since April 16, when he was picked up as a stray.

He is a friendly, affectionate and full of kisses. When he starts to play, he looks at you for permission to continue.

Sam has been temperament tested and found to love all humans, although he probably would do best in a home with older kids who would respect his shy nature. He is great with other dogs and OK with cats.

When he finds a toy, Sam is reluctant to let you have it back but gladly trades his favorite toy for a small piece of a hot dog. Sam already knows how to sit and would be easy to train other commands.

He would be happy to join you on your daily jog. In fact he would be happy to join you in anything you did.

Come and join this great companion dog at Spokanimal C.A.R.E, 710 N Napa St. The telephone number is 534-8133. Adoption fees are $79.50 and include neuter, rabies vaccine, license and microchip. Spokanimal is open seven days a week.
