Medical Lake
Police seek man in attempted rape
Police in Medical Lake are searching for a man they say broke into a woman’s house and tried to rape her at knifepoint.
About 2:30 a.m. Wednesday a man came in through the woman’s unlocked front door, woke her up, and demanded sex while he held a knife, according to a news release.
The woman tried to fight the man off and grab the knife, suffering cuts to her hands that required stitches.
A man inside the home woke up when he heard the struggle and pulled the attacker off the woman.
The assailant ran from the house, and a police search dog could not follow his trail.
The man is described as white and about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a thin build. The woman said he was wearing a black ski mask, a dark sweatshirt, blue jeans and dark fingerless gloves.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Medical Lake Police Department at (509) 565-5003.
