The following events and activities are scheduled during the communitywide “Our Kids: Our Business” campaign, which runs through April.

Spokane County

Today – Candlelight vigil honoring victims of crime and their families, Spokane County Courthouse, 5:30 p.m., 1116 W. Broadway.

Today – Foster parent information meeting, open to anyone interested in learning about becoming a foster parent, 7-8 p.m., Deaconess Health Education Center, Room 268. Call Carol Plischke at Olive Crest, (509) 468-0700.

Today – Shaken Baby Syndrome prevention program, 1-4 p.m., Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital, fourth floor classrooms, (509) 474-4841.

Today – Pinwheels with contact information for Families for Kids, a foster parent recruitment agency, will be distributed during class assemblies at Finch Elementary School. Linda Rogers, regional foster parent recruiter for the agency, says the goal is to sign up more foster parents from the school so that kids who enter foster care there don’t have to change schools. Coeur d’Alene
