Offices proposed on 29th Ave.
A proposal to build a three-level office complex on East 29th Avenue is the subject of a community meeting scheduled for next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the South Hill Library, 3324 S. Perry St.
Global Credit Union and Rockridge Court must obtain a conditional use permit for the project, tentatively expected to include 30,000 to 40,000 square feet of medical, dental or professional offices at 2008 E. 29th Ave. The project would have 120 to 150 parking stalls.
The city requires a community informational meeting prior to taking the proposal in front of the city hearing examiner, who would take public testimony prior to ruling on an application for a conditional use permit.

Repairs OK’d for community center
The Spokane City Council on Monday approved a $100,000 emergency budget ordinance to pay for repairs and upgrades to the electrical and heating and air conditioning systems at East Central Community Center.
A study by a technical consultant showed modifications to the center over the years have resulted in deficiencies in the mechanical and electrical systems that do not meet current codes. Some of the additions to the heating and cooling systems over the years were found to be not compatible with the original equipment.
New digital controls and a pair of high-efficiency boilers were recommended by the consultant. Lower operating costs are expected. Also, two new electrical panels in a separate room were recommended. Total cost of the project is $280,000 with the city’s community development funds and rebates from Avista contributing to the funding.
