Riverside student wins pentathlon during Junior Disability event
Kasey Andres of Riverside High School won first place in the field pentathlon competition at the National Junior Disability Championships during the event held July 21-28.
Andrews is a member of Team St. Luke’s coached by Teresa Skinner.
The championships included 280 athletes ages 7 through 21 from all over America who competed in events including pentathlon, swimming, archery, table tennis, boccia ball, 3-on-3 wheelchair basketball, power wheelchair soccer and weightlifting.
The 24th annual event, held by Wheel Chair Sports USA, was hosted by Shriners Hospitals for Children-Spokane and St. Luke’s Rehabilitation Institute.
