Man arrested for attempt to take antique knobs
Spokane Sheriff’s deputies arrested a Spokane Valley man last Thursday after he allegedly attempted to pilfer the knobs from an antique radio in the lobby of the Spokane County Public Safety Building.
Anthony L. Garito, 42, was arrested on suspicion of third-degree theft after he allegedly walked into the safety building lobby and removed the knobs. Deputies say that after pulling the knobs from the radio, Garito traveled deeper into the building, a move that required him to empty the contents of his pockets, including the knobs, into a plastic bowl and then pass through a metal detector.
After being scanned, Garito allegedly took his bowl of belongings and headed upstairs.
Deputies tracked down Garito, who was interviewed and then released after promising to appear in court.

A cash reward is being offered for information leading the arrest of a suspected cocaine dealer and gang member.
Todd David Bates is accused of setting up cocaine sales then having his girlfriend deliver the drugs. The sales occurred in Sprague while the couple was living there in 2006. Bates is 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighs 320 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes. Bates’ last know address was 4009 N. Ash St. He was previously convicted of theft, assault, vehicle theft and disorderly conduct.

Sex offender has outstanding warrant
A sex offender who walked away from supervision is wanted by Secret Witness, which is offering a cash reward for information regarding his whereabouts.
David Wayne Rice, 18, has an outstanding warrant for first-degree child rape. Rice, 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
