Kitchen fire quickly put out

Seven Spokane fire vehicles responded to a house fire Sunday evening at 4814 N. Magnolia St. and successfully extinguished the blaze, fire dispatchers reported.

The fire began in the kitchen, but the exact cause was not given. No injuries were reported. The extent of damages was also not available.

Grass fire under investigation

A late morning fire in grass and timber south of Post Falls was extinguished quickly and turned over to the Idaho Department of Lands for investigation, a Kootenai County emergency dispatcher said.

The 10:44 a.m. fire broke out on Greensferry Road. The cause was not immediately known.
