Determining the cause of fires can be difficult and time consuming, Spokane Fire Department officials say. Here are ways the public can help:

“Be watchful for suspicious activity and document it with specific information, such as time and day; and the description of people involved, including approximate height and weight, build, hair color, style and color of clothes, anything unusual or different about them.

“Note the direction of travel, type of vehicle (if one is involved), color, make/model of vehicle and license number.

“Report details of suspicious activity to fire investigators at (509) 625-7052 or 625-7053.
